Given there has been a huge rollout of vaccinations, namely J.J and Pfizer, people have more of an incentive to travel outside the United States. Especially as we enter the summer. According to CNBC, “A recent Vrbo survey of 8,000-plus people found that 65% of Americans plan on traveling more in 2021 than they did pre-Covid. A March survey of 535 adults by the website The Vacationer found that once the pandemic is “officially” over, a quarter of people plan to travel more, while just over 58% will return to pre-Covid travel habits. The same study found that 67.72% of respondents plan to travel this summer.” That is a lot better than the beginning stages of the coronavirus pandemic where “demand for traditional hotel accommodations remains down about 13% from last year and 20% vs. 2019. “That’s the least it’s been down for in some time,” according to according to Nicholas Ward, president and co-founder of Koddi, a Fort Worth, Texas-based travel booking technology company.
Moreover, something that you should consider, especially as you move forward, is travel insurance. There has been a drastic increase in travelers including the option of medical travel insurance. Jon Grutzner, president of Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, reported that “85% of clients now buy insurance, compared with 40% to 45% pre-Covid.” This particular activity among travelers have occurred because of the possibility of getting sick, in the midst of the world battling with the coronavirus.
That said, as a content creator, you should begin planning your travel similarly as well. You’d never want to be sick in a different country without travel insurance and end up with a huge bill by the time you land back in your respected country. Before we enter the summer, here are new countries, who have opened up their borders to Americans this year, that you might want to visit.
“Armenia was in a brief war last year with neighboring Azerbaijan, but a peace treaty was signed in November. To enter, you must have a negative result from a Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival or take a test upon arrival for about $40 and self-isolate until you get your result.”
“You must fill out a health declaration and present a negative Covid-19 PCR test result taken with 72 hours of boarding the flight. Be sure to read about the requirements for various ages. Get details: US Embassy.”
If you are traveling to Columbia, then you should carry a negative result with you from a Covid-19 PCR test taken no more than 96 hours before departing. Upon arrival, you’d be required to take a test and quarantine while waiting for a negative result.
On the other hand, Croatia requires passengers to show proof of a negative result from a Covid-19 PCR test no more than 48 hours old. Or take another one, then quarantine immediately, and self-isolate until getting a negative result. You must also have evidence of accommodation paid in advance and in full. A reservation alone is not enough.
“Tourist visas for US citizens are being issued at the Abu Dhabi and Dubai airports. Travelers 12 and older must present a negative Covid-19 PCR test result within 96 hours of departure. Even with a negative test, you might still need to quarantine (depending on the emirate) and take a follow-up test. More info: US Embassy.”
“Ethiopia requires arriving US citizens to have a medical certificate with a negative Covid-19 PCR test before boarding their flight that’s no more than 120 hours old. There’s also a seven-day quarantine. Before you travel there, closely monitor news reports about human rights abuses and killings in the northern Tigray region on the border with Eritrea. As of April 10, the State Department still ranked Ethiopia as ‘Level 3: Reconsider Travel.'”
“Starting April 6, US travelers who have proof of being fully vaccinated or those with proof of contracting Covid-19 but are now recovered may enter Iceland. This exempts US visitors from testing and quarantine requirements.”
“US travelers are still allowed to visit, but restrictions on movement could make it a very limited vacation. You must fill out a passenger locator form… You must present a negative Covid-19 RT- PCR test result taken within the previous 72 hours to enter. Starting April 15, there’s a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all arriving Americans regardless of Covid-19 or vaccination status.”
