Twitter remains one of the most popular social media platforms today. Also, with social media being used not only for personal interest but for professional use, Twitter is slowly transitioning into a space for business.
As a result, Twitter is following suit with its test launch of ‘Professional Profiles’ after other competitor platforms like Instagram and Facebook have already provided business profile options for their users. Thus, companies on Twitter will now be able to better present themselves on the platform. This feature will allow for numerous new tools and abilities for users to take advantage of and grow their business.
Twitter shared:
“Professional Profiles are a new tool that will allow businesses, non-profits, publishers, and creators – anyone who uses Twitter for work – to display specific information about their business directly on their profile. We’re starting with a small pool of businesses in the U.S. and will give more accounts access to Professional Profiles in the coming months.”
The Professional Profiles will consist of:
- Address and contact information
- Updated layout
- Variance to personal handles
This isn’t the first time Twitter has openly discussed ‘Professional Profiles’ coming to the platform. For example, last month, Twitter shared in a preview a version of the feature with more options like a verification badge and business category, according to Social Media Today.
Only a small sample of brands will be able to test the feature. However, Twitter still plans to make more improvements in its development.
Moreover, Twitter will be able to provide more opportunities for businesses to promote themselves on the platform in addition to increasing their audience reach.
This new feature will encourage the continuing separation of business and personal on social media. More companies are realizing that this is a monumental transition in the business world to remain relevant.
Twitter shared that their users should stay tuned for more information. Soon more businesses will be granted access to use Professional Profiles.
