On March 4th, TikTok announced their roll out of a new Q&A feature. This will in turn allow for creators to further engage with their viewers. Questions and answers are essential for the creator community to spark engagement, connect with their audience and build deeper relationships.
How does the Q&A feature work?
As you might have guessed, viewers ask questions and creators answer them. When creators post videos on TikTok, conversations and viewers’ engagement with content can result in endless comments. That’s why the platform has released the new Q&A tool for creators to now be a part of the conversations they are eliciting. Specifically, when a video is uploaded or when a creator goes LIVE, viewers have the choice of clicking a question mark icon to engage and communicate with a specific creator.
Using the Q&A tool step by step
To engage with a creator and ask them a question, viewers have to click on the question mark icon in the comments section of a video.
Once viewers have designated their comment(s) as Q&A, a text box stating “Ask a question” will appear. Here you will—and I’m sure you can guess—ask a question.
Creators using the tool can then respond to users with a comment, video, or reply using Q&A stickers in their answers.
Additionally, creators using the feature will have a Q&A page linked to their profiles which will consist of all questions that were previously answered. However, do note that you must set your profile as a “Creator” as opposed to “Business” account. Then, click on “Q&A” and press “Turn on Q&A.”
Though TikTok already provides user with ample ways to engage with creators, the new Q&A feature will further that engagement by allowing for deeper connections and relationships—and more questions.
