Sony has come through with something new and even better than before. Want to capture advanced high-quality imagery? Sony’s ZV-10 has you covered.
What’s even better is that Sony’s new vlog camera, ZV-10, includes great features. These features will ultimately enhance your experience as a video creator.
One important thing to point out is that “it features an articulating selfie screen with touch capability, 4K video capture, headphone and microphone ports, and a variety of add-on accessories to assist in video capture. This includes the handgrip seen in the photo above (sold separately) and a range of sophisticated microphones.”
And that’s not all. But, we will get into specifics, as you continue reading. Overall though, the camera is supposed to be better than the last one: Sony’s ZV-1.
Key Features on Sony’s ZV-10
- 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor
- Highly reliable AF system with face and eye detection
- 4K/24p video capture with no crop (4K/30p is cropped)
- 1080/120p capture for slow-motion footage (cropped)
- Built-in directional 3-capsule microphone with windscreen
- Fully articulating touch-sensitive display
- 3.5mm headphone and microphone ports
- Livestream-capable via USB-C connection
- 440 shots per charge, 80 mins continuous record per charge
- Capable of shooting vertical video
What’s the difference?
The difference is that ZV-10 will be able to deliver high-quality shots, on top of its versatility. In particular, we should pay attention to Sony’s video call-outs, audio call-outs, image stabilization, and soft skin effect, just to name a few.
The audio is one out of many incredible features that sets ZV-10 apart from the rest. Said by Sony’s Electronics Inc: “Sony’s leading technology, thanks to its internal Directional 3-Capsule Mic, enables the ZV-E10 to capture crystal clear sound recordings that accurately capture the speaker’s voice and the supplied windscreen to greatly reduce wind noise. For expanded audio options, the ZV-E10 includes a Digital audio interface via Multi-Interface (MI) Shoe and a mic jack to connect an external mic. The inclusion of a headphone jack allows the user to connect headphones to accurately monitor sound recordings. Audio output timing can also be set for Live or Lip Sync.”
There’s more. Another key feature is the soft-skin effect. Now we all have our moments of being ashamed about our skin. Some days are better than others. So isn’t it great that ZV-10 has made it possible to make us feel and look beautiful for a minute? Therefore, “Sony’s Soft Skin effect has been around for a while now, and it does exactly what it sounds like. Users can set the effect to low, mid, or high (or off). The lower two settings do a pretty decent job of smoothing one’s face, without looking unnatural, but the high setting is a bit much.”
Unfortunately, we won’t see it until the end of August, at which point the camera will come in two colors, black and white. For more information about what other features comes with it, please visit Sony.
