You’ve probably heard of Ipsy boxes if you’re at all invested in the world of makeup. Ipsy is a subscription service that sends its users monthly cosmetic samples, as well as other staple beauty products. Starting at $12 a month, you can get a personalized, hand-picked selection of top-rated makeup and skincare products delivered directly to your door. Ipsy is super convenient. If you’re not sure of whether or not you want to bite the bullet and purchase that full-priced mascara, foundation or skin cream, you can sample it in your Ipsy box and see if you really like the product before breaking the bank.
Ipsy has always been a “by creators, for creators” type organization. The brand was actually founded by iconic OG beauty guru Michelle Phan. And, it loves partnering with other popular YouTubers and influencers for marketing campaigns. So, it’s not surprising that Ipsy’s latest initiative is a social media initiative highlighting new and undiscovered creative talents online.
Ipsy’s Next 10
The Next 10 is a digital, challenge-based contest. Eventually, 10 creators will be selected to participate in an all-expenses paid trip to NYC in October. And, the ultimate winner of the event walks home with an additional $30,000.
Model Tabria Majors and makeup influencer Christen Dominique are to lead the set of challenges, wherein selected applicants will compete in a number of creativity-based challenges to see who moves onto the next round of finals. And the challenges themselves? They’re designed for creatives to showcase their digital skills and makeup abilities through their socials. Firstly, to submit, you’ll create an Insta video showing the world your best beauty hack, complete with the hashtag #ipsythenext10. If your beauty hack impresses the judges, then you’ll be selected to move to the next round.
Sound cool? Yep. The company is accepting submissions until July 30th. So, hop on it! If you’re an influencer, this might just be your next big break. And, if initially selected, you’ll be one of the 20 competing for the top 10 spot. Ipsy notes that they’ll select their finalists based on how they creatively engage with their audience on their social platforms.
