We’re coming out of quarantine, so I think it’s safe to say we’re all in a rut. We had more free time on our hands than ever this past year. Unless you’re unemployed, like yours truly, then every day is an opportunity to get creative (or binge-watch Love Island).

I know, I know. We’ve all heard of Marie Kondo and her magical art of tidying up. That being said, I feel that this show is especially relevant for creative types. Some studies (and by studies, I mean my experience) show that creators tend to be messier than others. That’s why Tidying Up is one of the best shows for creative inspiration.
How in the world are we supposed to go viral if our homes are a mess?! Girl, no one wants to see that. Watch this show all the way through, and then ask yourself some serious questions. Like whether or not that dollar store hair dryer you bought because some beauty influencer told you it was the best one sparks joy. Hint: it doesn’t!
Chef’s Table
I’ll argue until my throat goes numb that this is one of the best shows for creative inspiration. Is it weird that sometimes I watch this and cry? Yes? Whatever, I guess I’m just emotional! This is also a super relaxing show to watch after a long day of anxiety over what to post on social media. Even if you don’t like to cook, you can get plenty of inspiration from this show. And, the music is stellar.
Abstract: The Art of Design
Ever wondered where your favorite artists get their inspiration? Then this is the show for you, baby! This is one of the best shows for creative inspiration because it shows us how the objects around us are made. Not only that, but we get to see where the ideas for them originated. Very cool. Heads up to writers: this show also has amazing storytelling in it. We all could learn a thing or two from this show.
The Creative Brain
Calling all Grimes fans! Go watch this show immediately! The reasons why this is one of the best shows for creative inspiration are obvious. However, that doesn’t make the show any less interesting. Personally, I couldn’t get super into it because of all the science involved, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a shot. This show tells us all how we can tap into our creative genius. Who doesn’t want that?
Blown Away
I recently took a glass blowing lesson just for fun, and man that shit is HARD! I have an immense amount of respect for anyone who attempts this tricky medium. Glass blowing is no joke, and these artists are serious about their projects. Even if you have no interest in trying to blow glass anytime soon, I recommend you watch this show. Take it from me, it’s one of the best shows for creative inspiration.
